Dr. Pothula Srinivasa Brahmanand eyes on breaking his own Guinness World Record in Longest Speech Marathon on birth anniversary of Sri Rama Krishna with focus on message of Swami Vivekananda
     Bhubaneswar(vsk),16/02- Dr. Pothula Srinivasa Brahmanand is current Guinness World Record Holder in Longest Speech Marathon as he delivered a speech on central theme “Science and Technology, Society and Human Development” on 8-9 September 2012 for 33 hours and 46 minutes at KIIT University, Bhubaneswar, India. Swami Vivekananda inspires him with positive thinking and purity in thought and deeds and he opined that the message of swami Vivekananda should reach all sections of our society in general and youth in particular. Presently our society is experiencing several challenges in the form of poverty, corruption, violence etc. which are man made. Dr. Brahmanand, senior scientist with Directorate of Water Management (ICAR), feels this situation is caused by over concentration on science and technology with out bothering about moral standards and ethics. Hence time has come to stress on spirituality which provides platform for ethics and value system. Swami Vivekananda is most powerful and eminent spiritual guru who have explained the concept of Vedanta and human angle of religion to the world and strongly opined that India has to provide leadership to the world through its spiritual principles. Listening to his ideology makes everyone of us pure, truthful and strong at personal level and motivates us to serve the fellow beings with love and dedication, Dr. Brahmanand, Ph.D holder from IIT, Kharagpur. Government of India is celebrating the 150th year of birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda in the form of conducting various events such as debate, conference, essay writing etc. After experiencing immense benefit from Swamiji’s ideology in his life, Brahmanand who is Indira Gandhi Rajbhasha Puraskar winner for 2005-06 and 2011-12, would like to spread the same to others by delivering longest speech marathon (40 hour speech) on “Ideology and Spiritual concept of Swami Vivekananda and its relevance to the present day society” on the occasion of birth anniversary of Sri Rama Krishna Paramahamsa (18th February) which will be held on 18.2.2014 (from 7 AM onwards), 19.2.2014 and 20.2.2014 at Hall No 4, Kosi campus, KIIT University Bhubaneswar. He appreciated the efforts of Ramakrishna Mission and Vivekananda Kendra Units for bringing awareness about ideology of swamiji. Dr. Brahmanand, recipient of Vasant Rao Naik Award for the year 2008 and ICAR Outstanding team Research Award for the year 2002-03, will speak on present status of science and spirituality, life history of Sri Rama Krishna and swami Vivekananda, Chicago speeches, optimism principle, swamiji’s views on education, religion, women empowerment, karmayoga, rajayoga, bhaktiyoga and Jnanayoga, rural development, India’s leadership in spiritual awakening of the world.
